Acclaimed director Barry Jenkins is back with a new project that is sure to excite fans of Disney’s beloved classic, “The Lion King.” The exclusive trailer debut for Jenkins’ upcoming film, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” was recently aired on “Good Morning America,” giving audiences a glimpse into the highly anticipated movie.
Aaron Pierre takes on the role of voicing Mufasa, the iconic character known for his wisdom and strength. The film will explore Mufasa’s backstory and his journey into becoming the powerful and kingly figure audiences have come to love.
Jenkins was drawn to the powerful script and cultural significance of “The Lion King” universe, making it a project close to his heart. The film will feature original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and additional music by Lebo M, adding a new and exciting musical element to the story.
